    Hi Artists!

I’ll teach a 2-day workshop in The Woodlands, TX  this spring! It will be the first portrait workshop I’ve taught since the pandemic. This is suitable for intermediate to advanced artists and you may use any medium you desire however I paint my demonstrations in oil. Please use odorless solvent. Please arrive around 8:30 the first morning to unload your supplies. We’ll start promptly at 9:00am with a demonstration. I’ll show you how to begin your portrait with simplified light and shadow patterns, then talk about turning the head making the 2D appear 3D. Please be ready with questions. I love to share my knowledge!

Please bring several canvases, toned and untoned, your paint, brushes, easels (we some easels at the location, so see if you like them before hauling yours inside J). There is a supply list but if you have been painting a long time you probably have most everything. The paint brands are just suggestions.

Hope to see you all at the end of April!

    Susan Hotard, instructor
