WAL Art Weekend at Spring Creek Greenway Nature Center

Registration

  • Nothing formal...just sit or stand at an easel and do what you do best!
  • Nature centered and environmentally friendly themed activity on Sunday noon to 2 pm
  • Shadow judge during evaluations and keep duplicate record of official decisions. Tally results and place ribbons. During award ceremony, bring winning work to front to be displayed and critiqued.
  • Set out foods and drink Saturday, area clean up.
  • Take tagged art and hang from panels according to category and division, docent afternoon show
    10-noon
  • Supply and panel set up Friday morning. Meet at WAL gallery to bring panels and supplies to show venue. Set up panels and check-in tables
    Approx 7:30-11 AM, but may be split. Please send message if you have truck or van access!
  • Check registrations and stamp substrates for competitors10-11:30
  • Check in artists, hand out tags to attach to art
    10:30- 3:30. may split shifts

WAL Art Weekend at Spring Creek Greenway Nature Center

This two day art fest is now open for registration! The Main Event is our first judged show in two years with Plen Painting, demos, and more all weekend!

The Nature Center and staff are hosting this wonderful weekend filled with competitions, an LSAG judged show with critique and reception, artist demos, interactive family activities, an open paint out, and our first annual Plein Air competition!

Saturday's Main Event is our first judged show in two years! This show will adhere to the standards set forth by LSAG and winners will be qualified to enter the Juried Show at the next LSAG competition. Some restriction on size and number of entries have been put in place; entrants should follow the link to our show event and registration page ( https://wal.wildapricot.org/event-4524174 ) for further clarification. LSAG database and show requirements can be found here : http://lsag.wspub.com. This process can be confusing for new members so please ask questions if you feel lost! A judge's critique and reception will be open to all to enjoy immediately after judge A.J. Schexnayder declares the doors may open. 

Sunday, all are invited to join two great events. The first is a general Paint Out...all mediums, no membership required. The Nature Center offers al lovely deck, scenic trails, animal exhibits for artists.

Family interactive events will also be offered by our members at o charge to the public, and we are envouraging our artists to get outside and show off their skills!
