Beginning with Watercolor

With Dave Malin

In this short course, we’ll look at the fundamentals of watercolor painting from the perspective of the beginner, with little or no experience. This is for anyone who has wanted to paint with watercolors but has been reluctant to begin. It will be an explanation of tools, techniques, and tips to get you started to paint and create watercolor art. If you have never used watercolors, we will begin simply to understand the medium and then look to expand on that and experiment in creative ways. We will talk about various papers, brushes, and other things you may need to get started. We’ll go through color mixing and color harmony, too. Then, we’ll use what we’ve learned to gain experience in simple watercolor painting.
