Join us at our general meeting on February 19th from 10-12 at the WAL Studio and Gallery. Our meetings are a great opportunity to meet other artists and hear all the latest WAL news.
This month, we are very fortunate to have Hilda Rueda give a demonstration after the business portion of the meeting. Hilda is a Colombian born artist who has exhibited her work internationally and has received multiple awards for her paintings.
She will demonstrate painting from a live model which is a method that has been explored throughout history. Normally the artist starts with a light background and paints the darks. In this demo, Hilda will show a different approach to painting from life by extracting the light in a style that is both realistic and impressionistic, using a limited palette and long brushes.

How to get to the WAL Studio at 701 Sawdust Rd.
You will see a strip center to the right of Hobby Lobby. To the left of the strip center is a blue and silver building. To the left of that building, you will see a silver two-story building. WAL is in the silver building, and our entrance is on the right side of the building.
