Ages: 7-12 years old.

Week:  July 22 – 26th

Time:  1:00 – 4:00pm

Instructor: Beth Weaver

The children will discover the art forms of famous artists from Monet’s Impressionism, Van Gogh’s Post-Impressionism, Picasso’s Cubism, Kandinsky’s Expressionism, to O’Keefe’s American Modernism.  They will get to learn about the famous artists styles from the past centuries and create artworks using some of the techniques that the artists used to create the particular styles of art.  They will use the art elements of line, shape, color, texture, value, form and space to create works of art. They will learn about composition through fun explorations of concepts.

The subject matter will vary by each project from depictions of animals and nature, self portraiture, to still life renderings and modern abstractions. The children will get to work with a variety of art materials that will enhance each project.
