WAL offers a 3 foot by 8 foot section of wall space to hang your art at the Wal studio.  Members can hang as many pieces of artwork that will fit into this space. For example, 2-3  large 24" x 24" pieces, four 12" x 16" pieces or 6-8 smaller pieces.  Frames must be wired for hanging (no sawtooth hangers)  The edges of gallery wrapped canvases must be finished.

The cost is $15 per month and can be paid in advance for up to six months.  It will be the artist's responsibility to change out artwork.  Sales will also be handled by the artist with 20% going to WAL.

There is also a limited amount of space for three dimensional works.. There is an open bookcase and a wire display case that could be used.  Please email me if you would like to discuss this.

Take in for July will be June 27, 2022 from 1 to 3.  Sign up will be through the Wal website.

Members and nonmembers are invited to join us at our next general meeting on Saturday, July 9th from 10:00-12:00 at the WAL Gallery and Studio. Participants will hear all of the latest WAL news including upcoming classes, workshops, and exhibits as well as meet our new board members. After the business portion of our meeting, Mark Tusinski will demonstrate ceramic handbuilding and sculpture.

Mark will discuss the basic properties of clay and how to prepare it for working with the medium. He will share the 3 basic techniques of ceramic hand building and sculpture and will also briefly compare and contrast hand building vs. potter's wheel techniques. Finally, Mark will create a few example pieces of sculpture to show how to apply the 3 basic techniques.

Clay will be available for everyone to participate in the fun, hands-on portion of the demo. Participants will learn how to make a small pot incorporating the 3 techniques of hand building.  (aka: how to properly play with mud).
