If you are an absolute beginner, have ever been told by someone that art is not your strong point, or are coming bac after a years long hiatus, we have a welcoming group for you to join!
Basic information covered but experimentation is a strong point for this class!
Some students in this class are trying cold wax and oil or oil glazing acrylics...if either of these interest you this is currently the only class where we dabble in these mysterious arts!
Four Thursday morning classes are $100 for WAL members and those "grandfathered"; $100 for non-members. One make up date is included for each session which must be taken 30 days after last scheduled class.
Supplies are not included; a list will be attached to registration confirmation, along with other important info.

Overview:
This class is intended for beginning, intermediate and advanced students.
Beginning students will start with a series of drawing exercises from the Charles Bargue Drawing Course to develop a foundation of drawing techniques and terminology. Once the basic drawing exercises are completed students will then be encouraged to complete more advanced drawing and painting projects of their favorite subjects.
Intermediate and advanced students will work on more challenging drawing and painting projects that may include drawing from reference photos and still life.
Classes are on going from month to month and you can start at any time however, registration is monthly on the WAL website.

Title: Painting Vibrant Fruits and Vegetables with Texture

Level: Beginner - Advanced
Time: 9:30-5:00 with a 1 hour lunch break
During this two-day workshop, building blocks of line, value,color, composition, and edges will be taught and participants will gain a deep understanding of each element. This class will be taught in a step by step format, with each step being introduced with a PowerPoint presentation and demonstration, followed by hands-on exercises.
On the first day, students will begin building up the painting of a fruit or vegetable while learning pastel techniques. On the second day, students will implement the concepts learn on the previous day in order to complete the painting.
Registrants will receive a supply list via email.
About the Artist:
Carolina Dalmas has been teaching for more than 10 years. She is patient, fun, and uses pedagogic strategies that her students learn and retain information. She always starts her classes with the phrase: "Art is discovery, a way of looking at the world as though you are seeing it for the first time."
