Beginning with Encaustic Wax
Beeswax has been used for centuries in arts, and the modern technology has made it accessible to all artists.
Still, as with any new-to-you medium, there is an plethora of information and choices to be made as to how, exactly, to proceed, and with what supplies!
In this overview of encaustic painting, the goal is to explain how encaustic works, and what the average person will need to create paintings on wood using filtered beeswax and vaious pigments.
All supplies are included to make at least three small , ready-to-hang works. Students will have guidence to use heat guns and, torched...yes, real scary torches...to bring out the semi-transparent textures of the paint and wax.
Class limited to 12, minimum of 4
