2026 Woodlands Waterway Arts Festival Community Art Project

The Woodlands Art Counsel organizes The Woodlands Waterway Arts Festival each year for our community. In years past, The Woodlands Art Counsel has also organized community engagement art projects, that bring awareness to a local non-profit/not-for-profit, as an aspect of The Woodlands Waterway Art Festival.

TWAL has been an active participant in the Arts Festival for over 20 years and for 2026 we have been selected to organize the community engagement art project!

Our task is to bring awareness to Canopy, a Woodlands-based non-profit that offers support and resources for those who have been impacted by cancer. You can learn about this incredible organization on their website here.

Coming soon we will seek art project proposals from TWAL members that will incorporate hands-on community engagement during The Woodlands Waterway Art Festival in April and ultimately create a permanent installation at the Canopy center, along with a secondary display in The Woodlands Mall.

We will take submissions over a period of several weeks in the fall of 2025. A small sampling of these art project proposals, selected by a TWAL committee, will then be presented to Canopy in early 2026. The Canopy leadership team will select the project that will ultimately be created during the Arts Festival in April and finally installed in the their center shortly thereafter.  All funding for the project will be provided by The Woodlands Art Council.

Be on the look out for more information on project requirements and for the proposal submission to open on the project registration page!  Return here often for additional details and updates.

We are so privileged to be able to support our community with this project and we look forward to creating something special for our community!
