  • You will learn about dyes versus paints on silk and how to “fix” them.

Autumn is a great time to begin!

“The magic of silk is where a simple idea can be transformed into something unique in the world, created by you and wearable!”

“A beautiful method of artistic expression”

This workshop is intended to introduce you to basic and intermediate levels of silk painting.

Silk painting is a magical and fascinating ancestral art medium.

In this workshop, you will learn different application methods (i.e. free-flow, stop-flow and resist flow).  You will learn how to create texture on silk using different materials.  We’ll look at different types of silk and how to choose from them depending upon which application method you choose.  And of course, we’ll study how to use dyes and paints  for your designs and the differences between them.

We will also learn a few ways to correct “accidents” that might occur during the process and how to make modifications.

There is so much to explore!  You will find your ideas and inspiration endless using this unique, wonderful art form.
